Available Positions

Director of Development - Mid Atlantic Region

Green Lantern Solar is seeking a Director of Development to support solar development activities throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States region. This position will report directly to company leadership and will drive all solar development activities, including primarily land acquisition and permitting, project purchasing, as well as off-take procurement.

  • Meets the minimum criteria below.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Working with multiple databases to identify potential solar sites and coordinate and execute outreach efforts to landowners.

  • Conducting feasibility and fatal flaw analyses, negotiate site control documents, submit interconnection applications and coordinate interconnection studies.

  • Conducting and overseeing environmental studies, local and state permitting, title work and all other activities necessary for financing and NTP.

  • Creating, organizing, and maintaining development timelines and stages fori ndividual projects to maintain a brisk development pace and forecast project development expenses.

  • Participating in internal and external development meetings and organize and execute tasks that follow.

  • Utilizing and maintaining custom Smartsheets templates and dashboards used to organize and track pipelines, create tasks, track expenses, track timelines, etc.

  • Researching solar energy programs in new and existing markets.

  • Acquiring customers for net-metering and PPA projects.


Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • BA or BS

  • Minimum of three years of experience developing and permitting commercial/utility-scale solar and an upstanding reputation.Mid-Atlantic development experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work with multiple contractors and consultants.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Google products and experience using cloud-hosted applications. Experience with Smartsheets preferred. Willingness and ability to learn other platforms as implemented.

  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, business-development, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong experience negotiating site control documents and running financial proforma models.

  • Strong understanding of real estate title work and financing due diligence processes.

  • A bold, confident personality and ability to problem solve and innovate.

Compensation is a highly competitive base + incentive framework in the $200,000 -$300,000 + range. A high work rate will be rewarded.
